1. The Walterre is oriented to cater to nature lovers & photographers, writers, birdwatchers, researchers, etc. This place is ideal for those who are looking for a great Himalayan experience, a quiet relaxed peaceful getaway or you wish to simply relax and unwind.
  2. The rooms are all very well furnished and are large. All items have been carefully chosen and used in rooms such as mattresses, duvets, clean linen, pillows, mats, etc. These are not overly luxurious but give you the comfort of any standard hotel. All rooms and cottages are air-conditioned. Hot air blower heaters are provided in winter on request. Please let us know if there is anything else you require such as hot water bags, extra blankets or pillows.
  3. The toilets are equipped with hot & cold running water & showers. All toilet amenities such as fresh towels, soaps, etc. are provided of standard quality.
  4. Your towels are changed daily, but if you feel they do not need replacing please leave them hanging on your towel rack. We try and use as little water and soap as possible.
  5. The Walterre Resort has four luxurious and stylish bedrooms, all the rooms have antique four-poster beds. The Resort has ample open spaces making it breezy, sunny, and its beautifully designed, splendidly welcoming interiors. The drawing room has a lovely fireplace. The Resort is surrounded by greenery blue skies and mountains.
  6. The house has wifi and the internet and all mobiles work in the area.
  7. The sun tends to be strong, even in the cool hills, hence, we advise applying a lotion or cream with a high sun protection factor (SPF) to avoid sunburn.
  8. We do not have an in-house laundry.
  9. We advise you to be careful with your valuables. If there is something you would like to keep safe, our manager will be happy to assist you.
  10. Waltere does not have a bank to change foreign currency. The nearest ATM is in Dehradun 8km away. Please contact our manager for any assistance.
  11. Dehradun is the closest town that has a hospital. If you have any medical conditions that we need to be aware of, please inform our manager. We do not have doctors on call.
  12. If you’d like to leave a tip for our staff at the end of your stay, please do not tip any of our staff individually. Many unseen hands work hard to make your stay comfortable, and we strive to divide tips between the entire staff. Please leave tips in the Tip Box. You may tip the guides directly.
  13. Check – out time is 11 am & Check-in time is 1 pm.
  14. We do not have the facility to charge credit cards at the lodge. We recommend that you carry enough spare cash to pay for hotel taxes and any extra expenses that you may incur.
  15. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in your rooms. Breakfast is served whenever you are ready. If you have a very early schedule, please let us know the previous evening. We would appreciate it if our guests could inform us at breakfast whether they plan to have lunch or dinner at the villa so that our cooks can prepare meals accordingly. Waltèrre is renowned for its local cuisine. Many of our dishes are made with our homegrown vegetables, using herbs and local rice. Lunch is usually light Indian fare and there is a daily set menu for dinner. Our emphasis is on fresh food, cooked to western and oriental recipes. Special diets will be catered for.
  16. We are happy to set up free cookery lessons. If guests are interested in knowing how a particular dish they liked is made, we can arrange for them to learn from our cooks. Our staff will be happy to learn something from you if you would like to teach them.
  17. We serve filtered RO (Reverse Osmosis) processed water that is safe to drink. Please let us know if you prefer bottled water at all times.
  18. Yoga – Walterre retains the service of a Yoga expert, who provides both short and long-term lessons. Please let us know if you want to use his services. Payments are made directly to him.
  19. We would urge our guests to refrain from smoking in and around the lodge, inside the room and in the dining area.
